| Cab | An abbreviation of Cabinet |

| Cabinet | A metal cabinet in which computer network equipment, patch panels and cables are placed | |
| Cat 3 | Category 3 cabling. An outdated junk standard of cabling. Don't use it. | |
| Cat 5 | People often refer to Cat 5e cabling as "Cat 5". "Cat 5" can also be used as a general term for all RJ45 based copper cabling (which includes Cat 3, 5, 5E, 6, 6A, 7, 7A, 8.) |

| EDS | Electronic Data Systems. Founded by Ross Perot in 1962, this went on to become the largest dedicated IT Service company in the world, with their clients being government departments and large corporations.EDS wiki link | |
| PDU | Power Distribution Unit. Normally located at the back of large cabinets or the bottom of smaller cabinets. PDU's are what you plug your devices in for power. | |
| UPS | Uninteruptible Power Supply. A device that provides power to other devices, even when the power is cut. Every server should be powered by a UPS to avoid issues from blips tp the power supply. Routers and switches are sometimes powered by UPS's depending on the site and the business. | |
